Three-star offensive lineman Shane Lemieux of Yakima (Wash.) West Valley committed to Oregon on Sunday. Lemieux told the South Carolina staff on March 24 that he was committed to the Gamecocks pending the approval of his mother. One way or another, it appears something changed for Lemieux. The three-star offensive lineman Shane Lemieux announced via twitter he would instead be playing college football at the University of Oregon.
I have officially committed to the University of Oregon to play football. Go Ducks!!!

While this is certainly a hit to the Gamecocks' 2015 class, South Carolina is still recruiting several talented offensive linemen. The position will continue to be a priority for the Gamecocks moving forward, especially considering most of the starters along the offensive line in 2014 are upperclassmen.
It appears as though Lemieux's commitment to Oregon is strong. He indicated that he no longer intends to return to Columbia, S.C. with his mother.
Asked new Oregon commit Shane Lemieux if he was going to visit #Gamecocks again or any others: "I don't think so."
