The South Carolina Gamecocks’ 2017 recruiting class grew by one player on Friday night. Chad Terrell, from Dallas, Georgia’s North Paulding High School, committed to the Gamecocks before his senior night contest against Marietta. Terrell becomes the program’s 21st commit and the third WR, joining Charleston, SC-area product OrTre Smith and Union (S.C.) ATH Shi Smith.
Terrell selected the Gamecocks over Oregon, where he took an official visit back on September 3. He named the Gamecocks his leader back in August during an unofficial visit to South Carolina. The 6’3”, 205-pounder adds more depth to a wide receiver corps that will include Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards, among others.
Chad Terrell is a natural pass catcher w/ speed. Another big body to go along with Bryan Edwards and OrTre Smith. USC's WRs just got better.

Terrell currently sits at 55 catches for 1,077 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns during his senior season. One of those catches went for 90 yards, so it’s clear that he can be counted on as a deep ball threat when he gets to Columbia. He also plays basketball for the Wolfpack and put together a strong stat line as a junior (14.0 ppg, 8.9 rpg in 26 appearances). All in all, it looks like the Gamecocks have added a strong weapon to their arsenal beginning with the 2017 campaign.
