South Carolina Gamecocks National Signing Day: Sadarius Hutcherson Commitment Profile

The Huntingdon, Tennessee native signs his letter of intent with South Carolina.

Name: Sadarius Hutchinson

Position: Strong side defensive end, tight end

Height/Weight: 6'5" / 230 lbs

Hometown: Huntingdon, Tennessee

Ratings: 247Sports: Three Star Rivals: Three Star ESPN: Not ranked

We're not really sure what side of the ball he might end up on, but we do know  Sadarius Hutchinson will suit up as a Gamecock. After committing to South Carolina in December, Hutchinson was convinced by the new Gamecocks staff Columbia is the best place to next call home.

Strengths: In one word, versatility. Hutchinson was primarily recruited as a defensive lineman, but after success on both sides of the ball in high school, South Carolina coaches have started to ask themselves if he's not better suited as an offensive lineman at tight end. While he thrived playing two ways in the past, and declared defense as his first love, Hutchinson is open to the idea of playing offense primarily in college. That versatility should equate to playing time somewhere on the field for the Tennessee native.

Weaknesses: Hutchinson's biggest weakness might not be any physical limitation, but rather his lack of experience against equal talent/size. Playing in class 1A Tennessee athletics, Hutchinson easily out sized every player on the field against him, and it doesn't take his entire five minute highlight clip to realize that. There's no doubt he has the build an body type to succeed in major college football, he's just been limited in exposure against similar sized opponents. It may take some time for him to get used to equal competition.
