Name: Kiel Pollard
Position: Wide Receiver
Height/Weight: 6'1" / 200 lbs.
Hometown: Moultrie, GA (Colquitt County)
Rating: 247Sports: Three star Rivals: Four stars ESPN: Three star
Strengths: An original Arkansas pledge, Pollard flipped his commitment to the Gamecocks a few days ago ahead of signing day. He'll add a solid piece to Kurt Roper's offense and joins other offensive weapons in Bryan Edwards, Brandon McIlwain, and C.J. Freeman. He's definitely used to the end zone; he found it 31 times (18 through the air, 13 times as a short-yardage back) as a senior. That's on top of 1,163 receiving yards.
Weaknesses: As far as speed, he has admitted that he's not the fastest (i.e. a 4.6 40), so if the Gamecocks are looking for someone that can light the field on fire, he's not it. That means that he'll need to depend on his athleticism to make plays at the next level.
Overall: Don't be surprised to see Pollard get some time right away in a open WR corps that is hoping to establish an identity under a new system in 2016. The staff's pursuit of him tells you that they feel he has a lot to offer the program, and based on what's been said about him, he should contribute in some form immediately.
