Randrecous Davis commits to South Carolina Gamecocks on National Signing Day

The star Atlanta WR adds another big offensive piece to the Carolina arsenal.

Randrecous Davis, a former Georgia commit that unpledged after Mark Richt's firing, is now a South Carolina Gamecock.

Will Muschamp beat out Miami (Fla.), Richt's new program, for the four-star wide receiver from Atlanta. The 5'10", 169 pounder inked his NLI today at a ceremony at Mays High School, his soon-to-be alma mater.

Davis had impressive numbers as a senior in high school. This past fall, Davis hauled in 17 touchdowns and racked up 1,024 receiving yards on 58 catches. The Gamecocks are very likely to utilize him in special teams; in his final year at Mays, Davis ran back two punts for scores.

The addition of Davis adds another large piece to the offense that Muschamp hopes to build along with Kurt Roper in their first seasons in Columbia. With quarterback Brandon McIlwain, fellow wideouts Bryan Edwards and Kiel Pollard and running back C.J. Freeman, the Gamecocks look to have some individuals that possess the ability to rack up yardage and get points on the board, something that they lacked among many things last season (including overall defensive talent, excluding Skai Moore, of course). The battle between Pollard, Davis, Edwards and the returning WRs, including Deebo Samuel and Terry Googer, will be very interesting to watch and will make for at least one great storyline this summer and fall.
