Gamecocks offer a trio from Southern California
The Gamecocks didn't do a ton of recruiting in California toward the latter end of the Steve Spurrier area, but under Will Muschamp, they continue to look West. The latest offer from the Golden State is current sophomore Jaiden Woodbey.
Woodbey is listed as an athlete on the recruiting databases, but his primary position is that of a safety. He's ranked as a four-star prospect and as the #6 player at his position nationally by 247Sports. He currently holds Southern Cal, Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee and Cal among his other offers at this current time, while Southern Cal may have the inside track since his father played there. Woodbey recently transferred to national power St. John Bosco after spending his sophomore year at Upland; he registered 55 tackles and 2.0 TFLs in 12 games.
Another California player that picked up an offer from the Gamecocks this past weekend is 2017 Los Angeles High dual-threat QB and San Jose State commit Kaymen Cureton. Cureton is a top-30 dual threat signal caller among current juniors via 247Sports and also holds offers from Boston College, Colorado State, Hawaii, LSU and San Diego State.
As it turns out, those two weren't the only California offers for the Gamecocks this week. Freshman corner/wideout Max Williams, also from the L.A. area, added South Carolina to his offer list this weekend. Boston College, Florida State, Louisville, LSU and Maryland were his other current offers, but he also received an offer from Michigan and Arizona, who figure to be strongly in the mix.

Florida DE gets an offer
Jonathan Garvin appears to be a Florida lean at this time. However, that didn't stop the Gamecocks from offering the West Palm Beach DE.
FAU, Georgia, Iowa State, North Carolina, N.C. State, UCF, USF, Virginia Tech and Western Michigan are among Garvin's other offers right now.
