There's some good news on the injury front: Brandon Wilds is on track to get in on the action in Death Valley this weekend and Nunez's shoulder injury won't keep him out. Also, center Alan Knott appears recovered from an ankle sprain that kept sidelined for two weeks. Timely, since his backup sat out with an injury all week.
This is the injury report and Mr. Auguste's army of tiny heads will provide you with the latest Gamecock injury news (for the backstory on that, click here.)
One Auguste | Expected to play, might not start |
Two Augustes | Game-time decision |
Three Augustes | Questionable |
Four Augustes | Doubtful |
Five Augustes | Out |
Brandon Wilds, RB
Wilds has been recovering from a cracked rib that's kept him out a couple of weeks, and he's been sorely missed. He practiced in a yellow Jersey this week, but reports indicate that he'll be available against LSU
Lorenzo Nunez, QB
Nunez won't start (Perry Orth will), but Steve Spurrier said that the true freshman should get some time to "run around". That obviously depends on how his bum shoulder feels.
Alan Knott, C
Knott has been out with a high ankle sprain he suffered against Georgia. He's expected back and the timing couldn't be better as his replacement, Freshman Zack Bailey hasn't practiced this week due to a hamstring injury. A reliable center is a highly underrated asset when you've got inexperienced QBs under center.
Deebo Samuel, WR
Samuel is still out with a hamstring injury. He's questionable for Saturday.
