247: Coaches are focused on now, not later. There's sure to be a lot of change after the season, but the coaching staff is looking to keep their eyes fixed on what's coming up on Saturday: a game against The Citadel. Also, Shawn Elliott talks about how he's enjoyed coaching the team, despite their struggles and the win/loss record. Good for him for keeping a proper perspective on things.
GC: A look at the defense's need to defend against cut blocks ($$). Also, the "tale of the tape" ($$) as the staff takes another look at the loss to Florida, and some notes and quotes from the press conference ($$).
The State: Prep work continues for The Citadel and their triple-option offense. Steve Spurrier is still mulling over becoming an ambassador for South Carolina football. Spurrier's done a lot for this program, and it would be good to still have him around, even if it's not in a coaching role. Skai Moore nearing tackle milestone. Moore has had a terrific season (which might get lost in the team's struggles) and has remained a focal point of the Gamecocks' defense. As a junior, you might make the case that he could declare - if he wanted to - but he'd likely be a free-agent pickup at best. We'll see. Also, Sean Kelly is a numbers guy, just like his dad, and might be confused for playing a different sport. Plus, could a former South Carolina Mr. Football end up here in 2016?
SportsTalk has a feature on the coaching search called "Who's Hot? Who's Not?" Also, good news for Gamecocks verbal JJ Givens?
