Down 14-0 to the Tennessee Volunteers in the first quarter, the South Carolina Gamecocks saw one of their star players put on the wrong end of a targeting hit by Tennessee defender Brian Randolph.
Cooper did walk off under his own power and was evaluated for a concussion. Randolph was ejected after the official's replay confirmed that he led with his helmet. Randolph will miss the first half of next week's game against North Texas.

Cooper's status for the remainder of the contest is unknown. He was able to walk off the field under his own power; however, he - again - was evaluated for a possible concussion. Fortunately, he did return to the game a little while later as he was cleared to go back in.
We'll update you when more becomes available and keep an eye on things throughout the game.
