Recruitment:
Huechtker did not play football as a college freshman. He walked-on to the team prior to the start of spring drills in 2015.
College Career:
Since his college football career is just getting started, let's take a look at his academics (After all, work before play). Huechtker started college at USC-Lancaster, transferred to York Tech in the spring and made his way to Columbia in the fall of 2014, but did not try out for the team.
2015 Outlook:
Huechtker will try to contribute in anyway he can this upcoming season. Whether that means spending his time on the practice squad or getting a chance to dress out, he'll surely appreciate all of his time as a Gamecock this season. While his bio is short, it looks like he'll get some time both as a snapper and holder for the special teams. He spent his high school career as a center, so who knows; maybe an opportunity will arise there as well.
