Rivers Bedenbaugh

RS Sophomore

Full Back

6'2" 247 lbs.

Leesville, S.C.

Recruitment:

Bedenbaugh fielded offers from the Citadel, Newberry College, and Wingate before deciding to attend Georgia Southern, joining the Eagles' football team as a walk on.

College Career:

Bendenbaugh walked on at Georgia Southern at the beginning of the 2013 season. He was redshirted his freshman season with the Eagles. He attended USC in the fall of 2014, playing football at Gray College, now called Palmetto Prep Academy. In his lone season at Gray, Bendenbaugh earned the defensive coach's award as a linebacker.

Bendenbaugh joined the Gamecocks in the spring of 2015 as a walk-on fullack.

2015 Outlook:

Bedenbaugh, who has three years of eligibility remaining, looks to sneak in some snaps this season at Full Back. Though not a glamorous or often-used position, if Bedenbaugh can emerge as a reliable blocker out of the backfield, he could cement a role in the Gamecocks offense.

Trivia:

Though Bedenbaugh has had quite the trail-blazing career thus far, his beginnings are close to the heart of Gamecock country. Where did Bedenbaugh graduate high-school?
