Ali Groves

RS Sophomore
Free Safety
5' 10" / 185 lbs
Stone Mountain, Ga (Stephenson)

Recruitment

Consensus three-star prospect out of the 2013 class. Top-50 overall safety.

Other major offers

UConn, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mizzou, many others.

College Career

Groves redshirted as a true freshman. He did not see any game-time last year after sustaining a shoulder injury in the fall of 2013, which required surgery.

2015 Outlook

Originally listed as the starting cornerback before the 2014 season, Ali Groves has been in various stages of injury or recovery since his high school days. His development has been extremely limited because he's missed so much time both on and off the field. Currently listed as the third-string free safety, we don't see much upside in Groves' role on the defense other than in mop-up roles or in the event that we see injuries en masse on the depth chart. At full speed, Groves has great potential, and we at GABA hope to see him get some playing time. He's a hard worker in the classroom, and there's no indication that he hasn't been working hard on the practice field.

Trivia
