TFC is getting some hang time this Friday as we're talkin' bout punters.

Punter
5-10 / 189
Oakland, Fla. (West Orange HS)

Recruitment
Kelly wasn't a highly recruited punter coming out of high school, but then again, there's probably not too many of those. He did receive an offer from Florida Atlantic University and enrolled at the school in 2012.

College Career
After spending the 2012 and 2013 seasons handling the punting duties for the Owls, Kelly left the school in 2014 and didn't participate in football while attending Tallahassee Junior College.

He allotted a total of 140 punts with an average of 41.3 yards with the Owls. He was a multiple game ball recipient for FAU in the 2013, which I'm not sure was a good or bad thing, but the fact is he was put to some heavy use in his two years there. To add to his consistency booting the ball, Kelly had quite a few 60+ yard punts for the Owls with a career long 68-yard punt as a Freshman.

He joined the Gamecocks in January as a walk-on.

2015 Outlook
Kelly was the only punter to participate in spring drills, so in all likelihood, he'll be the replacement to Tyler Hull's recent three year run as the Gamecocks punter. But then again, nothing is this cut and dry when you're talking about punters on a Steve Spurrier coached team.

"We're doing something interesting that you guys might get a kick out of. Both of our punters are wearing number thirteen. Have you ever heard of that Bart? We don't want the other team to know which one is in there." Steve Spurrier, 2011

Fun Fact
Aside from kicking footballs in high school, Kelly also played a little quarterback. Hey, I believe a certain HBC also passed and kicked his way through a football career.
