Redshirt Senior
6'1", 189 lbs.
St. Matthews, SC
Recruitment:
3 stars, #24 athlete in the 2011 class. Other offers: Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia
College Career:
Following a redshirt year in 2011, Jeffery saw action in three games during the 2012 season, but didn't log a reception. Two seasons ago (2013), he played in eight contests, catching six passes for 32 yards, with five of those coming in the win over Arkansas. Was also involved in the game-clinching onside kick vs. Kentucky. He played in nine games last season, and made his first career start against Florida. Jeffery was presented with the Everyday Attitude award during the spring of 2014.
2015 Outlook:
Shamier Jeffery has had an admittedly bumpy ride throughout his first four years as a Gamecock: early questions regarding his work ethic have given way to off-field awards and accolades from the coaching staff. Unfortunately his work hasn't translated into on-field production; he has only eight career completions for 41 yards. Slated as the second-string WR behind Deebo Samuel, Jeffery has the potential to continue the incredible legacy of his bloodline, but only he can make that dream come true.
Trivia:
His brother is Alshon Jeffery. Enjoy your trivia nugget.
