If you’re a betting person, you’ve no doubt been watching the line for the upcoming bowl games - or, OK maybe you haven’t. However, Vegas has released betting odds for each bowl game, including the College Football Playoff. That includes the Birmingham Bowl, where South Carolina has opened as a 10.5 point underdog to South Florida.
This isn’t entirely surprising. I wrote about the talent this team possesses and how it could turn out to be a matchup nightmare for the Gamecocks. Apparently Vegas feels the same way, or, at least, Bovada does.
As far as odds for the CFP games, Alabama has unsurprisingly opened as a double-digit favorite (17) over Washington in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Ohio State is starting as a field goal favorite in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl against Clemson.
Keep in mind that we’re providing these for entertainment purposes only. But if you are planning to put money on the Birmingham Bowl and are surprised that the Gamecocks are an underdog, maybe you shouldn’t be betting in the first place.
