Well, just in case you thought the South Carolina Gamecocks' quarterback situation couldn't get any more interesting, it just did. Jake Bentley, who was supposed to be enrolling next year in time for the 2017 season, will instead reclassify for the class of 2016 and be on the fall roster. That means that the Gamecocks will have six QBs - Connor Mitch, Perry Orth, Michael Scarnecchia, Lorenzo Nunez, Brandon McIlwain, and Bentley - on the roster when camp opens before the season.

"I've established enough credits through high school to get the opportunity to do it," Bentley said. "After talking it over with my family, we felt it was the right thing to do and it's a good thing for all of us."
That's certainly a bombshell. The buzz around Bentley has been great, with many saying that he will be an impact player in college and is a QB that possesses the "it factor" few players possess. Now, we'll get a chance to see what he can do in just a few months.
We'll examine the overall impact on the Gamecocks' roster and offensive outlook in the days to come, but this is big news. The Jake Bentley era looks like it may start sooner rather than later.
