Will Muschamp and the South Carolina Gamecocks staff got some good news on Sunday morning as they gained a commitment from Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside offensive tackle Jordan Rhodes. The 6’6”, 300-pound tackle becomes the fourth offensive lineman to commit to the Gamecocks in the 2017 cycle.

Rhodes didn’t join the team at Creekside until his junior season, and even then didn’t see significant action until just this past year. 247Sports reports that he had several other OVs coming up - including to Mississippi State and Mizzou - but was impressed with what the Gamecocks had to offer.

I feel like South Carolina is a place I can start something new...It was very impressive and caught my attention. Coach Muschamp is a great guy, has a great personality and I think I fit well here.

Rhodes is ranked as a three-star recruit, according to 247’s rankings. He will join Summie Carlay (already enrolled), Dennis Daley and Eric Douglas as O-linemen that have pledged to play at Carolina beginning in the fall. The team has their eyes on possibly getting Tony Gray into the fold, so it’s likely that they’ll have a fifth man up front when it’s all said and done.
