Will Muschamp and South Carolina picked up their second commitment for the class of 2018 today. Lamarius Benson, a product of Eastside High School in Covington, GA (just outside of Atlanta), announced his decision to continue his college career in Columbia.

Benson, who stands at 6’2” and weighs 300 pounds, played offensive guard for the first time last year, according to an interview with Sportstalk. He added that he will be slotted as an offensive guard when he arrives on campus in 2018. It certainly doesn’t hurt to add 300 pounds to your offensive line.
The Gamecocks offered Benson on February 25 while he was in town for junior day. But it didn’t take long for him to settle on Carolina as he spurned offers from Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Maryland, Troy and UCF before making his choice. South Carolina now has two 2018 commits; versatile upstate South Carolina ATH Darius Rush pledged on February 27, two days after his own junior day visit.
