Odds: Finally at home, South Carolina favored over Kentucky

For the first time this season, Vegas likes South Carolina in its home opener against the Wildcats.

The Gamecocks are finally considered favorites in their first home game of the season.

After a comfortable road victory against Missouri, the South Carolina Gamecocks have been installed as favorites against the visiting Kentucky Wildcats.

The betting line, which opened initially with the Gamecocks as a 5-point favorite, has continued to move in South Carolina’s direction. The Gamecocks are now 6.5- and even 7-point favorites in what will be their first game in the friendly confines of Williams-Brice.

Kentucky is coming off a less-than-impressive 27-16 victory against FCS foe Eastern Kentucky, an uneven performance which saw the Wildcats trailing at the half. Star running back Benny Snell bruised his ribs, and although he re-entered the game, his health could be something to watch.

The over/under is set at 50.5. South Carolina is 2-0 against the spread this season, while Kentucky is 0-2.
