The betting line has a seen a lot of movement in the Bulldogs’ direction, as it initially opened with South Carolina as a 10.5-point favorite. But bettors, understandably, are approaching the Gamecocks with more caution this week.
While Louisiana Tech is the first non-Power 5 opponent the Gamecocks face this season, the Bulldogs aren’t a typical cupcake. Louisiana Tech is coming off a thrilling 23-22 victory against Conference-USA rival Western Kentucky, and dual-threat quarterback J’Mar Smith has thrown for 722 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs are also coached by former Gamecock assistant Skip Holtz.
The over/under is set at 53. South Carolina is 2-1 against the spread this season, while Louisiana Tech is 1-2.
