Odds: South Carolina again underdogs as they travel to Missouri

Vegas is taking the Tigers in this one after their eye-popping offensive performance last week.

Fresh off their season-opening victory against N.C. State in Charlotte, the South Carolina Gamecocks find themselves in a familiar spot ahead of their matchup at Missouri: underdogs.

The betting line, currently sitting with the host Tigers as 2.5-point favorites, has already seen some movement. Missouri opened as 4- and even 4.5-point favorites in some books, but the money has since been flowing in the Gamecocks’ direction.

The Tigers are coming off a season-opening win of their own, a 72-43 pasting of Missouri State that featured a staggering 815 yards of total offense for the Tigers, with quarterback Drew Lock accounting for 515 and running back Damarea Crockett racking up 202. But the matchup was not without some intrigue, as the Bears held a 35-34 lead shortly before halftime and put up more points against Mizzou than any previous FCS opponent.

Regardless, Las Vegas clearly likes the Tigers’ potent offense against the Gamecocks, as well as their home field advantage. Both teams are 1-0 against the spread this season.
