The Gamecocks had a quick turnaround after their tough season opener Friday night against Ohio State, but they still handled the UNCG Spartans with ease. South Carolina scored the first points and while the Spartans drew even or within a couple of points a few times in the 1st quarter, the Gamecocks never trailed. By halftime the Gamecocks were up 53-25. They came out in the third and extended that lead to 80-34 before dialing it back a little in the 4th to finish with a score of 91-44.

A'ja Wilson once again led the Gamecocks in scoring with 20 points and had 10 rebounds as well to post her second double-double in two games. She also had a team-high 6 blocks for the Gamecocks. Sarah Imovbioh also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Alaina Coates (12 points), Tiffany Mitchell (10 points) and Bianca Cuevas (10 points) also scored in the double digits for the Gamecocks. South Carolina was able to get contributions from several different players off the bench thanks to their large lead, including freshman Shay Colley, who scored her first 7 points for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks will return to action on the road against Clemson on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
