The Gamecocks played in another close game against a ranked opponent and it came down to the final seconds, but they emerged victorious to improve their record 17-0 (5-0 SEC) and earn their 43rd consecutive home victory.

Things stayed close between the Gamecocks and the Aggies throughout the game and Texas A&M hit a last second shot at the end of the first half to take a 26-27 lead into halftime. After another intense quarter, the Gamecocks still trailed 36-38. South Carolina finally pulled ahead 52-47 with just over four minutes left. But the Aggies didn't go away and it came down to the wire as Texas A&M made it 56-57 in the final minute of the game, then managed to tie things up at 58-58 with less than a second left. A foul on Khadijah Sessions sent her to the line and she made one of her free throws to seal the 59-58 victory for South Carolina.

A'ja Wilson was easily the most valuable player in this game, accounting for nearly half of the team's points with 26. She also had 8 rebounds and 8 blocks. Tiffany Mitchell was the only other Gamecocks in double digits with 11 points.

The Gamecocks return to action on Thursday when they travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers at 7 pm.
