#2 South Carolina Gamecocks vs. #16 Florida Gators
When: Thursday, February 11, 7 p.m.
Where: Colonial Life Arena, Columbia, SC
How to watch: SEC Network +
After a statement victory last night for the men against LSU inside CLA, we hope the good fortune can keep on coming as the Gamecock faithful washes their hands from the Monday night loss to the UConn women. The ladies look to start another home streak with the Gators in town tonight.
Three Point Preview
1. Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks have a quick turnaround as they try to rebound from their humbling loss to UConn Monday night. With just two days to prepare, South Carolina is forced to wash away the let down and heartbreak of losing to the Huskies in one of the most hyped games of the program's history and find a way to take down yet another ranked, conference opponent.
2. The Gamecock men lit up the scoreboard with 94 points last night. Look for the scoring trend to continue tonight as the lady Gators and Gamecocks come into tonight with the top two scoring offenses in the SEC. Florida leads the league in scoring at 81.0 ppg with South Carolina six points behind in second place at 74.8 ppg.
3. Some historic program marks look to be set for two of South Carolina's big three tonight. Alaina Coates is just one rebound away from becoming only the second player in women's program history to record 1,000 points and 800 rebounds before her senior season. And, senior guard Tiffany Mitchell is three points shy of 1,700 career points. She'll become the eighth woman to put up that many points in the program's history.
With the UConn game put away, the ladies can re-focus on this season's goals. It won't matter if they beat the nation's best in February. That's what March is for.
