Three Point Preview
1. Beating ranked opponents has been an apparent skill for South Carolina so far this season. With the win over Florida, the Gamecocks tied the program-record of 10 wins versus the top 25. Of the ten victories, seven of them are in SEC play while four of them have come against teams in the top 10.
2. Alaina Coates has stepped up her game as conference play wears on. The junior center has eight double-doubles in eleven SEC games thus far, including in each of the past three. She is averaging 11.3 rebounds and 17.7 points on 73.3 percent shooting in these games.
3. Although the Lady Vols have dominated the all-time series with the Gamecocks, holding a 45-4 edge, South Carolina has had success recently. Three of those wins for the Gamecocks came in the last five seasons, including sweeping Tennessee last year with the second victory giving South Carolina its first ever SEC Tournament Championship.
