A decorated group of young women (Asia Dozier, Sarah Imovbioh, Tiffany Mitchell, Tina Roy, and Khadijah Sessions) has been to two Sweet 16s and a Final Four. Can they make it a third straight trip to the regional semifinals and back-to-back appearances in the national semifinal? The next step on the journey, as the five seniors make their final appearance at Colonial Life Arena, is a second-round matchup against Kansas State.

Three-Point Preview

1. If the Gamecocks want to fend off a K-State challenge, they'll need to play better than they did in the early going against Jacksonville. Carolina held just a 32-21 lead over 16th-seeded Jacksonville on Friday night at Colonial Life Arena before outscoring the Dolphins 45-20 in the final two stanzas to cruise to a 77-41 win. Alaina Coates was good for 22 points, 10 rebounds, while A'ja Wilson (15 and 11) joined Coates in the double-double-club. The Gamecocks are seeking their third consecutive trip to the Sweet 16.

2. K-State earned a spot in today's second-round matchup by defeating (8) George Washington, 56-51, on Friday Night at the CLA. Megan Deines and Breanna Lewis scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead the Wildcats to victory. K-State is in their 14th NCAA Tournament, their best showing being an Eilte Eight appearance in 1982, the first year that the NCAA took oversight of the Division 1 women's tournament.

3. This is only the third meeting between the two schools. Each team holds a win; K-State via a South Carolina forfeit in 1980 and the Gamecocks via an 81-65 win a year later.
