After a loss at home to Tennessee (their first in SEC play), the Gamecocks took out their frustrations in Lexington against the Kentucky Wildcats in a 75-63 victory. They hope to go 2-for-2 on this abbreviated road trip as they tangle with Arkansas in a Super Sunday contest down in Fayetteville.
Despite their 13-9 record, the Hogs have struggled in conference play, going just 2-7 and sitting a game back of Florida for last in the SEC. That’s not to say they haven’t been competitive: they fell to then-#4 Mississippi State by just eight and are fresh off a three-point loss to Georgia on Thursday. Outside of double-digit losses to Texas A&M and Mizzou, they’ve kept the final scores in their SEC defeats somewhat respectable.

Jessica Jackson leads the way for the Razorbacks in scoring (15.1) and rebounding (6.2). From a defensive standpoint, her team does well, holding opponents to just 58 points an outing - right behind South Carolina’s 55.8 mark for third in the SEC. Jimmy Dykes’ squad is also outrebounding opponents by a 39.5-34.6 margin. They also hold opponents to 29.3% beyond the arc, so it’s critical for the Gamecocks to feed Alaina Coates and A’ja Wilson inside and not lean so much on the outside shot this afternoon if they’re to handle the Razorbacks this afternoon.
