2017 WNBA Draft: Preview, order, start time, how to watch/live stream, and more

A trio of Gamecocks are set to come off the board today.

Start time: 7pm

Where: Samsung 837, New York City

TV: ESPN2 (first round); ESPNU (second, third rounds)

New York City will play host to the 2017 WNBA Draft this evening, and the consensus is that Washington’s Kelsey Plum will be the first one to have her name called tonight as she becomes a member of the San Antonio Stars.

South Carolina is projected to see three of its players - Alaina Coates, Kaela Davis, Allisha Gray - go in the first round. But there’s a lot of deviance between some of the mock drafts: Alaina Coates is showing as the #2 overall pick to Chicago on HERO Sports, as the 4th overall selection (Dallas) on FanRag and as the #5 pick (San Antonio) on DraftSite.com. FanRag and DraftSite.com’s mocks have Allisha Gray coming off the board at #2, while HERO has her at #3. As for Kaela Davis, HERO has her being picked ninth overall and joining Coates in Chicago, but DraftSite.com has her picked seventh and headed to Atlanta while FanRag has her at #3 and off to Dallas. Another mock draft - this one by Mike Rose at Newsday - has Gray at #4, Coates at #5 and Davis all the way down at #12 (to Minnesota).

We’ll have more to come tonight, but while Coates, Davis and Gray’s South Carolina careers have ended, we look forward to seeing them in the pros next year - and beyond.
