Ten Seasons of Spurrier: Eleven Things We Want to See in Spurrier's Eleventh Season

We wrap up our series on the HBC by turning our attention to 2015

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

We've spent the summer going over the things that have happened in Spurrier's ten seasons at South Carolina. With the 2015 season kicking off tonight we're wrapping our series up with a list of the eleven things we want to see in his eleventh season here.

11. A Few Great Quotes From Spurrier

The HBC is both notorious and beloved for the things he'll say with the mics on. Any season is a little more fun when Spurrier is dropping zingers and jabs at his opponents.

10. Bowl Eligibility

Though the 6-6 Gamecocks didn't play in a bowl game in 2007, USC has been bowl eligible every season of Spurrier's tenure as coach. That's a streak we all want to see continue.

9. A Shon Carson House Call

Kickoffs returned for touchdowns are tons of fun to watch. Also, Danny Garrison (an invaluable member of Gamecock Twitter) spent all of last season predicting this every time Carson was back to receive the kickoff; we want to see it happen as much for his sake as for ours.

8. A Win Over Tennessee

We're way overdue to hand Tennessee a humiliating loss. The Vols have beaten the Gamecocks in especially gut-wrenching fashion the last two seasons and the year before that they ended Marcus Lattimore's football career. Seeing the end of the streak of utter misery against Tennessee would be immensely satisfying.

7. The Beginning of a New Rivalry Winning Streak

The Carolina-Clemson rivalry has mostly been pretty fun during Spurrier's time in Columbia. Let's get back to that.

6. A Good Defense

Please.

5. Multiple Consensus All-American or All-SEC Players

We want to see several less experienced players step up and get noticed. And we want to watch Pharoh Cooper have another incredible season.

4. A Gamecock Heisman Winner

Obviously #Freisman is the prime candidate for this, but Connor Mitch having an unexpectedly amazing season and winning it would be equally awesome. (We'd also love to see a Gamecock bring home the Piesman Trophy)

3. Ten More Seasons of Spurrier

Or, at the very least, we don't want to see him retire after this season.

2. An SEC Championship

Bringing an SEC Championship to Columbia is one of the goals that Spurrier is still looking to achieve and one of the things that Gamecocks fans most want to see him accomplish.

1. A National Championship

This is a list of things we want, not necessarily things that we expect this season, and I don't think there's anything that the Gamecocks fanbase wants more than to see the team bring a national title home to Columbia. Even without the title, an appearance in the CFB Playoff would be fantastic.
