This week's SEC Women's Basketball Tournament will begin the same way it did last year: with the South Carolina Gamecocks as the favorite to hoist the trophy. As the top seed, the ladies don't play until Friday, when they'll take on either Missouri or Auburn with a berth in the semifinal game on the line.
The Gamecocks bulldozed through last year's tournament in North Little Rock - dropping Arkansas by 22 before a 20-point win over LSU and a 16-point victory over Tennessee. While they're the favorite, the target will loom large on their back, especially since they've appeared less than invincible against their SEC foes at various points throughout the season.
A 3-0 weekend for South Carolina will guarantee the team a one-seed in the NCAA Tournament and the right to host the first two rounds at Colonial Life Arena. Our Tuesday Topic this week deals with just that: how confident are you that the women will win the tournament? Given another (potential) shot at UConn in the Women's Final Four, do you like their chances a little better this time around? Let us know in the comments.
