1. Kentucky Wildcats
Still the best.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
Probably the conference's hottest team right now. Overall record and RPI are hurt by early-season losses, but this team is playing like a tourney team right now. The question is how many wins in the weak West it will take for the Tide to make up for its OOC showing come Selection Sunday.
3. Florida Gators
The Gators lost a road trip to MSU, but they are still in a nice position heading into the meat of their schedule.
4. Vanderbilt Commodores
A tough team to figure out. Sometimes, they look like one of the nation's best teams. At other times, they struggle mightily.
5. Tennessee Volunteers
A similarly up-and-down team.
6. Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas has a very low RPI right now, but they've shown flashes of being a good basketball team at points this year.
7. Georgia Bulldogs
Is UGA fading down the stretch? An NCAAs berth is still attainable, but the Dawgs are going to need to start winning again, and quick.
8. South Carolina Gamecocks
Carolina may be beginning to fade after its quick start. The loss to Auburn showed that this team may actually be as bad as many originally thought.
9. Mississippi St. Bulldogs
An interesting team to keep your eyes on down the stretch. They've been up and down, but the win against Florida shows that the potential is there for this team to rise in the rankings.
10. Mississippi Rebels
This team has a high RPI and a good overall record, but its play since the SEC slate began has been anything but impressive.
11. LSU Tigers
Since its close win over Arkansas, LSU has yet to come anywhere near sniffing a win. A visit from South Carolina presents a good opportunity this week.
12. Auburn Tigers
Auburn picked up its first win of the season with a fine performance against South Carolina. Still a lot of ground to gain before rising in the rankings, though.
