SEC Power Poll Ballot: Week Ten

Peter Aiken

Not a whole lot of movement this week because South Carolina at Mizzou was the only major conference game. If you disagree with any of my rankings, let me know in the comments.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide trounced Tennessee and appear to be head and shoulders above every other team in the conference. It's hard to feel good about the chances of whichever team emerges from the SEC East to unseat the Tide.

2. Auburn Tigers

Of course, these guys may have something to say about which Yellowhammer State team represents the West in Atlanta. Auburn won a breather against FAU. The upcoming weeks will determine the extent of the Tigers' renaissance.

3. Missouri Tigers

Despite losing a heartbreaker to South Carolina, these guys still control their destiny in the East and have earned more than passing respect. They need to find more dynamism on offense, though.

4. LSU Tigers

Will LSU be able to give Alabama its first test since Texas A&M? This game rarely disappoints, so don't be surprised LSU is ready to challenge for a win.

5. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Gamecocks returned from the brink with a classic comeback against Mizzou in what may have been the conference's most exciting game to date this season. With all its remaining games at home, this team may be about to finish strongly.

6. Texas A&M Aggies

Johnny Manziel looked great against Vandy, but don't get too excited about the defense seemingly looking better. Vandy was shorthanded.

7. Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss gets a week off after routing Idaho this past weekend.

8. Georgia Bulldogs

Got a week off to prep for the Cocktail Party. Still has an outside shot at the East if it can beat Florida and Auburn.

9. Florida Gators

Also getting ready for the Cocktail Party. Probably not going to be able to get back into the division race, but still has some chances to salvage the season somewhat.

10. Tennessee Volunteers

The South Carolina win was nice, but early returns on Tennessee being able to build on the win aren't great. Of course, having to play Alabama the following week will do that to you.

11. Vanderbilt Commodores

Another team that couldn't build off a big upset the week before.

12. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

Not a convincing win over Kentucky, but these guys will take what they can get right now.

13. Arkansas Razorbacks

Got a much-needed week off after suffering multiple blowouts.

14. Kentucky Wildcats

The wins aren't coming yet, but this team is definitely a bit tougher than a year ago.
