The  South Carolina Gamecocks lost to the Auburn Tigers 42-35, with Dylan Thompson throwing a pick within the final seconds to end the game.  The Gamecocks were very efficient on offense, scoring on most of their drives, with three ending with interceptions.  The offense had 535 total yards of offense, with 416 coming through the air and 119 on the ground.  The top performers in this game were quarterback Dylan Thompson, who threw for over 400 yards and five touchdowns, running back Mike Davis who had 173 total yards and one score, and receiver Pharaoh Cooper who had 151 yards of offense and two scores.

Despite the three turnovers, the offense was not the problem in this game.  The South Carolina defense was gashed for 551 yards, with the Tigers running backs combing for 395 yards on the ground.  The defense only managed to cause the Tigers offense to punt twice during the entire game.  Even when the defense forced a third down, the Tigers converted 6-8.  The lone turnover for Auburn came during a punt return by Quan Bray that allowed the Gamecocks to take the lead 21-14.  The Gamecocks fall to 4-4 (2-4) and return to Williams Brice Stadium next week against the Tennessee Volunteers 3-4 (0-3).
