Three Point Preview:

NCAA Basketball: Lander at South Carolina Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports
  1. South Carolina rebounded off the loss to Clemson with a home win over Lander. In the win, freshman guard Rakym Felder scored a season high 20 points. Both he and Hassani Gravett have had some solid games off the bench. They will have to continue to step up on the road at Memphis. Duane Notice has been hot and cold throughout the season. In the last six games Notice has scored double digits three times. In both games Carolina has lost this season, Notice scored just four points.
  2. The Gamecocks need to win the battle on the glass. The Gamecocks were out-rebounded four games in a row before Lander on Tuesday. In the win over Lander both Maik Kotsar and Chris Silva grabbed 11 boards. Sedee Keita also grabbed a season high five rebounds off of the bench. They will have their hands full as Memphis enters the game ranked inside the top 50 in rebounding, averaging just shy of 40 per game.
  3. The guys to watch on Memphis are brothers K.J. Lawson and Dedric Lawson. Sophomore Dedric Lawson is the Tigers leading scorer, averaging 20.7 points per game. He is also averaging a double-double with 10.8 rebounds per game. Freshman K.J. Lawson is the teams second leading scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game. In Tubby Smith’s first year at Memphis, the Tigers have gotten off to a decent start. They are looking for a signature win to build a postseason resume. With wins over Oklahoma and Iowa less glamorous than last year, a win over Carolina would provide Memphis a big boost.
