The Gamecocks rained a program record-tying 16 3-pointers in their 84-77 win over Texas A&M, which was yet another double-digit comeback victory for South Carolina. A.J. Lawson led USC with 23 points, making an eye-popping six of his seven 3s, and Chris Silva had himself a day in the post with a 22-point, 14-rebound performance. Hassani Gravett and Tre Campbell rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Gamecocks with 18 and 13 points respectively, and South Carolina enjoyed a 42 percent shooting performance overall in another encouraging offensive effort.

What to watch for

Aside from a potential matchup in the SEC Tournament, this is the only time the Gamecocks and Rebels will face off this season. Ole Miss has been on a roll lately, having won four straight (against A&M, Georgia, Auburn, and Missouri). Two of those games — Georgia and Auburn — were on the road as well. Guard Breein Tyree (18.4) and forward Terence Davis (15.6) are in double-figures for the Rebs, who excel from the free-throw line (hitting 77.3 percent for the year). South Carolina’s got a road trip to Mississippi State on deck after this, so it’d be nice to break the recent trend and get a couple games above .500.
