I'm not a draft guru or even a very ardent observer of the NFL, but here are a few quick observations.
- The SEC saw 10 players taken overall, with four of the top five. Not bad, not bad.
-
Mark Ingram was drafted by the Saints. As a Saints fan, I disapprove. For some reason, though, ESPN believes New Orleans had a good day.
- Notable omissions: Ryan Mallett and Da'Quan Bowers. I'm honestly quite surprised that Bowers wasn't taken. Maybe the scouts watched too much video of his performance against Carolina?
- Will we see any Carolina players taken on the second day? The players I see as having the best chances are Cliff Matthews, Chris Culliver, and Weslye Saunders.
