Alan Knott
RS freshman
6'4'' / 275 lbs
Tyrone, GA
Recruitment:
three-star prospect, 48th OG nationally
Other major offers:
Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, South Florida, Syracuse, Central Florida, Virginia Tech
College Career:
Knott redshirted in his true freshman season in 2013.
2014 Outlook:
Listed behind demonstrated producers Cody Waldrop and Clayton Stadnick at center, Knott is unlikely to play much this year as he continues to season his game as well as develop his body in S&C. Unless we suffer an unfortunate rash of injuries at center and/or guard, the main thing we're looking for from Knott is potential to contribute in the future.
Trivia:
Knott's high school team won two state titles during his tenure, including a 15-0 season in 2012.
Beat writer's terrible double-meaning lede:
"Will Muschamp was initially feeling good about his defensive line's chances when first- and second-team centers Cody Waldrop and Calyton Stadnick went down with injuries, but Muschamp found himself tied up in a knot when third-teamer Alan Knott came in and immediately showed he was capable of playing well."
