The Gamecocks should have some arms available today with the extra day of rest, so we'll see how far Taylor Widener goes this afternoon before giving way to the bullpen.
Due to bad weather conditions, South Carolina's Regional matchup against UNC-Wilmington has been postponed until tomorrow, time TBA. A win in that game would give the Gamecocks hosting rights in a Super Regional due to Clemson's pair of blowout losses to the Oklahoma State Cowboys (thank you OSU, we owe you one). Make sure to go out to support the Gamecocks at Founders Park tomorrow!
The former Gamecock is now halfway to Joe DiMaggio's record of 56, set 75 years ago. Is JBJ the one to break what's been considered a mark that will never be match? That still remains to be seen, but he's a step closer.
Parkinson, a sophomore, was 4-3 with a 2.70 ERA in 20 games (seven starts). Opponents are hitting .298 against him thus far.
JBJ just keeps raking. He legs out an infield single in the 6th against the Cleveland Indians to keep his streak alive!
JBJ continues to be lit.

Steve Spurrier was asked if he would be interested in accepting the role of College Football Commissioner (should the position be created, it's all up in the air right now). His answer was a no, but he couldn't pass at the chance to take a jab at Ole Miss.
While Whit Merrifield was busy getting his first career hit and Jackie Bradley Jr. was busy being Jackie Bradley Jr., a current Gamecocks football player was showing off his hops. RIP RIM
