Dawn Staley's #2 Lady Gamecocks improved to 11-0 Sunday afternoon with a 88-57 victory over the East Carolina Pirates. The Gamecocks and Pirates met inside the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in a game labeled as the Beach Showdown.

The Lady Gamecocks were led by trio Alaina Coates, Tiffany Mitchell and A'ja Wilson as Mitchell led the Gamecocks with 17 points with Coates and Wilson posting a double-double each to combine for 25 points and 25 rebounds. It was a nice sight to see both Mitchell and Wilson play well as both have been dealing with some health issues as of late.

Mitchell's still in the process of getting back to full-form after foot surgery in August and Wilson was made active after missing action the past two games. As for Coates, she now has at least a double-double in each of her past three games

Dawn Staley should also be pleased with a healthy stat line scattered throughout her team. Four of the Gamecocks five starters finished with double-digit points and 10 of the team's 12 player's posted 10+ minutes. Once again the Gamecocks size and depth was able to wear down another opponent. East Carolina was playing in it's third game in three days and were outscored in the 48-18 in the paint.

The Gamecocks return to Colonial Life Arena to take on Elon Tuesday night.
