South Carolina vs. Florida - NCAA Tournament Elite Eight Open Thread

Here we go again. The Florida Gators and South Carolina Gamecocks face off today for the third time this year, and unlike the last time these two met, a little more is on the line. The winner advances to the Final Four at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ to take on either the Gonzaga Bulldogs or Xavier Musketeers in the national semifinal.

The regular season series was spilt between the two teams: South Carolina won 57-53 on January 18 at Colonial Life Arena, while the Gators took February 20’s rematch by an 81-66 margin. Florida’s riding high after Chris Chiozza’s buzzer-beater helped his team topple Wisconsin in the Sweet 16, while the Gamecocks had little trouble with Baylor in a 20-point blowout.
