Three-star defensive end Quandeski Whitlow of Opelika (Ala.) High School committed to South Carolina on Monday, making the news publicly known through his Twitter feed. Whitlow's decision to expedite his announcement timeline by eight months immediately after getting offered by South Carolina on Saturday seemed to bode well for the Gamecocks.

Whitlow is the No. 31 weakside defensive end prospect and the 698th overall prospect in the 2015 class according to the 247Sports Composite index. The primary defensive end target remaining on South Caorlina's board is four-star JUCO prospect Marquavius Lewis, a 6'4, 271-pound strongside end who is originally from Greenwood, S.C.
