USC used a big 7th inning to beat Furman last night. This game was actually fairly close until that point, as the Gamecocks were unable to capitalize off their basehits for most of the evening. The hero of the big seventh was none other than Bobby Haney, who smashed a grand slam that capped off a 3-4 outing. It's good to see Haney beginning to break out of his slump at just the right time. It hasn't just been in the midweek games, either; Haney seems to be hitting better in general right now.
