Post-Clowney defensive end depth continues to take shape as the Gamecocks land their second high profile DE commitment of the 2015 cycle.

Fresh off a visit to Columbia, 4-star 2015 weakside DE Arden Key set a commitment date of July 1st. He then said, "Eh, screw it," and committed on June 16, which happens to be today.

247Sports lists Key as the 3rd overall weakside DE in the 2015 class which, if everything holds steady for the next 20 months, means big things for the South Carolina's 2015 DE class considering they've already landed a commitment from #1 overall WDE Shameik Blackshear.

It's the third commitment for South Carolina's 2015 class, with WR Dexter Neal also giving an early verbal to the Garnet and Black. While it'll be a long time before February 2015 rolls around, these early commitments indicate that the 2015 class stands to be a strong one. If you're into heavily skewed factoids that rely on a very small data set, South Carolina's 2015 class is currently the nation's fourth best.
