It’s been a tough few games. Does USC have something left in the tank?

An increasingly fatigued Gamecocks squad dropped its third straight, falling 78-63 to Missouri on the road in a game that felt like an uphill battle from start to finish. Without star freshman A.J. Lawson (ankle) and missing Chris Silva for large portions of the contest (foul trouble), South Carolina struggled to mount a serious challenge to the Tigers. Hassani Gravett was the top performer for the Gamecocks, scoring 20 points and making all three of USC’s 3-pointers. Keyshawn Bryant (15) and Silva (12) reached double figures as well.

What to watch for

Back on Feb. 16, the Gamecocks buried A&M under an avalanche of 3s, topping the Aggies 84-77 in Columbia. Lawson had six treys as South Carolina tied a program record with 16, but the Gamecocks trailed by double-digits at the start of the second half before going on their incredible run.

Now, South Carolina must face the Aggies on the road, and without Lawson. Unlike the Gamecocks, A&M has won three of its past four, grabbing wins over Alabama, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt while falling to No. 13 LSU. Wendell Mitchell (13.4 points per game) and Savion Flagg (12.8) lead the Aggies, and they had 20 and 24 points, respectively, in the previous matchup. This is the final road game of the season, and we’ll see what USC has left in the tank.
