Go Cocks! Beat Cow U!
In an attempt to steer this rivalry back on course, I'm resulting to a little bit of mankind's last ditch effort - superstition. During my four years of undergrad at USC, our football team managed to beat Clemson only once. In 2006 I spent a good portion of my Thanksgiving evening making the signs below, and Carolina beat Clemson 31-28. I managed to sneak them into the game via some equipment bags, and I am certain that I single-handedly ruined the day of the entire section of Clemson fans to my right (me and Jad Dean, that is).
I'm the one holding the "E."
Do I think that my signs affected the outcome of that game in any way? No, but I'd like to think it at least pissed off some of their players.
Friends.
Comrades.
Sometimes lightning strikes, and sometimes Carolina beats Clemson. So fellow Gamecock fans, I humbly encourage you to once again pour your heart and soul into this game that has been so cruel to us in the past. Forget what the pundits say. Forget the records. Forget the skid. This team has but one goal left for this season, and they'll need your help to attain it. True victory never comes with less than premium effort, and the Gamecocks will need all you have to give on Saturday.
