South Carolina Voted in Support of the NCAA's Multi-Year Scholarship Proposal
Last week, all 330 members of the NCAA (both individual schools and conferences) had an opportunity to vote on whether to override the NCAA's new proposal to allow multi-year scholarships. A vote of 62.5% was required for override - but the pro-override forces only garnered 62.12% - which equates to falling short by just two votes. South Carolina voted "D" - i.e., Do Not Override, joining the majority of fellow SEC members (Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Vanderbilt) as well as the league itself - which has its own vote. Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M supported override, as did Clemson. North Carolina and 34 other members did not vote; two abstained - one of which was Harvard.
