Matt Rolin was expected to make a verbal commitment to the Gamecock football program if his unofficial visit this weekend went as expected. He must have seen everything he needed to early on, because the 4 star linebacker from Ashburn, VA went ahead and pulled the trigger within hours of arriving at the football offices in Columbia.
Rolin announced his commitment via the following tweet:

Rolin becomes the highest-ranked prospect committed to the Gamecocks in the 2013 class. 247 Sports ranks him as the 122nd best player in the country and the 9th overall outside linebacker prospect. He is the 13th commitment in the class and vaults South Carolina over LSU into the position of the nation's 9th-best class.
