No. 12 South Carolina vs Davidson Preview

The Gamecocks host the Wildcats in another freezing cold midweek matchup

UPDATE: Due to inclement weather in Columbia, today's game against Davidson has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

After sweeping Northeastern over the weekend to improve to 6-1 on the season, the Gamecocks have won six straight games since dropping their season opener to College of Charleston. They will look to extend that win streak as they host Davidson on Tuesday before gearing up for this weekend's rivalry series with Clemson.  South Carolina leads the series with Davidson 46-21-1.

Davidson is 3-2 after beating Michigan twice and losing to Tennessee Tech once last weekend. Last week's bad weather wreaked havoc with Davidson's schedule. It first forced them to cancel two games early in the week, including a game against Wake Forest that was set to be the home opener. Then the weekend home games were cancelled as well and the Wildcats instead went to Savannah, Georgia to play Michigan and Tennessee Tech. Though they have yet to play at home, today's game will be only the second true road game for the Wildcats this season.
