South Carolina has clinched a share of a repeat SEC Championship with a victory over No. 11 Mississippi St. The Gamecocks also possess a tiebreaker over their only competition, Tennessee, meaning Carolina will be the No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament. The Gamecocks can win the title outright with a victory in the season-ending game at No. 13 Kentucky this Sunday. The Gamecocks will also have the opportunity to become the second SEC team to finish 16-0 in conference play. The Lady Vols performed the feat in 2011.
MSU never quite let this game get away from them, but they also weren't able to get within true striking distance. The Gamecocks took a 39-26 lead to the half after a big run. The Dawgs were able to get within 10 in the second half, but they didn't get closer than that before the Gamecocks used another later run to pull away and win 69-50. Tiffany Mitchell led Carolina with 16 points.
