Things are going to be a little different for Wilder than they were last year. Recruited as a safety out of Hapeville Charter High School (the same high school as 2018 commit Kingsley Enagbare), the Atlanta-area product appeared in all but one game at nickel in 2016. However, during the spring, the staff began the process of switching him to linebacker. It figures to not be as much as a transition for him in reality, and with a player like Bryson Allen-Williams to learn from at the strongside LB (SAM) slot, he should make the adjustment well and even see a little bit of time in the rotation behind the defensive line in 2017.

2016 stats: 15 tackles, one, FF, one INT in 12 games (three starts)

Recruitment: Three-star prospect saw offers from Louisville, Mississippi State and South Carolina before pledging to the Gamecocks on June 13, 2014.

Highlight: Here’s Wilder’s fourth quarter FF from last year during the ECU game, with the Pirates threatening to score.
